Do you want to be a Christian?
to become a member of the Catholic Church?

Perhaps you have been about thinking about becoming catholic, have researched and decided; maybe you have become interested in Christianity, have not being practicing for a long time, not sure where to begin; or perhaps still you feel drawn to faith in Jesus but still have many questions, even concerns? We want wish you a warm welcome, we are all pilgrims of hope, journeying in our faith; as a church community, you are welcome you speak with us and we are ready to journey with you.

God draws us to Himself and the journey of faith gives us that time and space to discern how that is real to us. So whatever questions you’ve asked, let us remember that is through our ability to think, reflect and question that we are drawn deeper into the mystery of God’s love for us.

As we draw closer to faith in Jesus, listen to his words in the Gospel, we hear his call to be unified in faith, his call to practice the faith he taught. There is a process in the Catholic church that we have to assist in the formation and preparation for the Christian life. The process is Called RCIA,

When he was at the table with them, he took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened, and they recognized him; and he vanished from their sight. They said to each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he was talking to us on the road, while he was opening the scriptures to us?”
Luke 24: 30-32

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

The process of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is an exploration of the Christian faith; it has its roots in the very earliest days of the Church, when communities were anxious to pass on their new found faith in Jesus to others. In basic term this process is about teaching very basic aspects of the Catholic life and practice and the opportunity to prepare to receive the sacraments of the Church.

In a relaxed and welcoming environment we journey together and reflect on different aspects of the faith including how God makes himself known to us and the life Christ shares with us through the Sacraments of the Church. It is not comprehensive, and there is no exam; it is your journey in faith.

You will embark on this journey where you will get to know Christ better and deepen your relationship with him, which could change your life forever.

The RCIA course is open to all persons of any age who are exploring the possibility of joining Christianity in the Catholic Church, and for those baptised Christians wanting to become Catholic; this is also for those who were baptised Catholics but for this or that reason did not receive first holy communion or confirmation.

This may lead up to being received into the Catholic Church, however it is by no means compulsory if candidates feel they need more time.
