The monthly parish prayer group is held on the 1st Sunday of each month after the 10:20am Mass in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel.

Everyone is very welcome. Please feel free to join us at any time.

Our Charismatic Prayer Group meets every Saturday from 5:00pm – 7:00pm in the Upper Room at the Cathedral. All are very welcome

What is the Charismatic renewal?

The charismatic renewal is a movement which focuses on the gifts of the Holy Spirit in the church. The Catholic Charismatic Renewal member is the individual in the Catholic Church who has personal experience of the Holy Spirit baptism, deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and is led by God in a deeper life of worship, holiness, service and love

Origin of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal

This movement obviously, was in conformity with the prayer of late Pope John XXIII, who during the opening of the II Vatican Council prayed!

“O Holy Spirit sent by the father in the name of Jesus, who is at present in the church and does infallibly guide it, renew the wonders in this our days, as by a new Pentecost. Grant to thy church, that being of one mind and steadfast in prayer with Mary the mother of Jesus and following the lead of blessed Peter, it may advance the reign of love and peace Amen”.

The Vision of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal:

The primary purpose of the Charismatic Renewal is for the Church to experience the full reactivation of the power of the Holy Spirit and the charismatic gifts.
