CAFOD, the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development, is the official aid agency for the Catholic Church in England and Wales, guided by the values of compassion, solidarity, dignity and hope. Together, we put our faith into action to help our sisters and brothers overseas living in severe poverty and injustice to reach their full potential, regardless of religion or culture.

CAFOD is a member of Caritas International, a group of over 160 Catholic agencies from around the world, known as ‘the helping hand of the Church’ and one of the largest aid networks in the world. Due to our global reach and local presence, together we have the potential to reach everyone.

Here at the Cathedral hub, our community support the Lent and Harvest Fast days and enjoy giving through the World Gifts programme.

We are also hoping to support CAFOD’s campaigns which tackle the root causes of poverty.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

We are always looking for people to be part of a group which supports us in our parish ministry of outreach through CAFOD. You could support us by:

Sharing CAFOD prayers particularly at Lent and Advent – Fundraising to support CAFOD’s work- Sharing CAFOD news, verbally or via notices and social media etc.

If you have a few free minutes, a couple of hours or longer, do get in touch. Many of the opportunities can be tailored to fit into your schedule!
